small victories

scottish whisky label design

Been meaning to post an update on the whisky label for a while, but I kept getting side tracked… After my long winded meandering post way back, things changed (again). The cool thing is that despite heading back in the original direction, we managed to compromise. So, while Dunnottar Wines get their more traditional illustrated label back, I get to keep my slug – and this time he will be rendered in gold foil to match the text, yay! (Yes, he is teeny on the bottle, miniscule even, but he IS there. And his size now is the point – he’s almost a wee easter egg. That’s a win in my book!).

I’m told the bottling is going to happen around late spring / summer now, and I’m super excited about seeing the label on actual bottles on actual shelves.

seasons change

Juno illustration ~ Jan2017

It might still feel like winter (especially when I’m waiting for daylight to take photographs :)) but the early spring issue of Juno magazine is out now.

And I’m always super flattered when editor Saffia uses my image in the online advertising or contents page.

As there will be more issues of Juno per year from now on (six rather than four), I’ve decided to commit to one illustration per issue instead of two. I’m liking that – it gives me more focus. There’s been some interest in prints for this one already, so I know it’s kinda working!
